Are the natural signs on tanned leather valuable?

The visible imperfections on cow hides should not be considered as a fault, but quite the opposite. The absence of natural signs on the leather is often a sign of lower quality. The quality of cow skins, in fact, is perceptible even through some aesthetic details: a hide that has been greatly processed to remove these signs becomes thinner and less prestigious.
Among the natural visible signs on cow hides, and which identify the high quality of the leather, are insect bites, colour variations, sand marks, open and closed scars (more or less deep), natural wrinkles, blind grain, pores and branding marks.
Their presence shows that the leather was treated minimally, leaving its natural aesthetics unchanged.
