Shapes and sizes

The leather market offers pieces of different shape and size.
The hides, in fact, being natural products, are different from each other. How do you measure them?
The sale is made on whole or half skins, but even large-sized offcuts can be found.
The most common form is the full skin, and two half skins are obtained from it by cutting the central part.
The size of a skin varies according to the breed and age of the animal: the common size of a whole skin is approximately 45/55 square feet.
As for the length and width of the skins, the estimations of the various standard sizes follow. The cutting area is usually smaller (around 4/6 inches from the side).
